About the Website
This website is an attempt to share my passion for Catholic heraldry with others, especially my brother seminarians, and to encourage a venerable Catholic tradition among all Catholic clergy and religious. Secular heraldry is much more well known, but equally vast and interesting is Catholic heraldry, which developed along side secular heraldry. In addition, website provides a venue for me to share my art and glimpses of seminary life. I encourage anyone interested to frequent the armorial page, which is in a constant state of expansion and updating. This is due to the vast amounts of Catholic heraldry in the United States and the relatively limited efforts people have put forth to record them for history. I also periodically add more pictures as events at the seminary occur.
About the Author
I am seminarian studying at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary to be a Catholic priest in Archdiocese of St. Louis. God willing, I will be
ordained in 2014. One of my greatest passions is heraldry, in particular Catholic ecclesiastical heraldry. I'm currently a member of the
American Heraldic Society and an associate fellow at the International Association of Amateur Heralds.
After many years of merely reading and studing heraldry, I began illustrating coats of arms as well, putting to use the talent
for art with which I've always been blessed. As the right to personal heraldic arms is possessed by all clergy and religious, not just
bishops as is often thought, I welcome any chance to educate clergymen and religious communities in heraldry and design or illustrate coats
of arms for personal or corporate use.
Feel free to contact me.
