Kenrick-Glennon Soccer Season
The 'KGB Lions' soccer team has begun it's season two weeks ago with a 4-1 win (the first time the Seminary's had a winning record since I can remember!). We will be playing at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary every Sunday at 1:00 p.m. for the next few weeks (except on the 16th, during the Pro-Life Convention). The game dates are: Oct. 2, Oct. 9, Oct. 23, Oct. 30, Nov. 6 , Nov. 13 , and Nov. 20.
There will also be a special Ecumenical match between Kenrick-Glennon Seminary and Concordia Seminary at the old CBC high school soccer field on Friday, October 7 at 4:30 p.m. We're trying to get as many people as possible to attend that game, as the Lutheran seminarians from Concordia always have a good showing, and the game is typically one of the most exciting.

"Venial Sin on a Tortilla"
Jeff the chef returns: Nutella and Peanut Butter spread on a soft white Tortilla (you can buy all these supplies at your local Schnuck's supermarket for less than $7!). Just roll it up after you're finished spreading as much of each ingredient as you like, then enjoy!
In other news... the Priestie Boyz returned today from the Crossroads Music Festival, where they played with the likes of Danielle Rose, Dayspring, Cheerup Charlie and Friday Mourning, among others. It was an awesome festival, and pictures and information (and even a few songs...soon) are available on their website.

Feast of St. Pio of Pietrelcina; Leaving for Crossroads
Today is the feast day of St. Pio of Pietrelcina. St. Pio has been one of my most important inspirations for joining the Seminary, and I know he was a great help in intercessory prayer for my little sister, who was born three months premature! He was a devout priest, and had many troubles in his life, but he always offered his problems to the Lord and accepted his crosses (many though they were!) with a humble and obedient heart.
Here's a picture I drew of him in my journal recently:
On another note, the Priestie Boyz and I are leaving for Crossroads this evening. Please pray for safe travels. We will be bringing some T-Shirts and business cards to distribute at Crossroads, and I'll be videotaping and recording the event, so we'll see what happens with that material (perhaps there could be a 'pre-release' track of some sort).

KGB Soccer Team Starts with Win
Yesterday, the KGB Lions (the Seminary soccer team) won the first game of the CYC soccer season. We played very well (in my opinion) all game, and we finished with four goals (to the other team's one goal). It was awesome to be back on the soccer field for another game; I hadn't played at all over the summer, and I couldn't wait to get back on the field for a game! Thanks to the many fans we had on the field—it was awesome! (People actually cheered loudly when we scored.).
I don't yet know our schedule, so I hope I can make the rest of the games... but for now, it looks like we're off to a good start. I'll try to have someone take a few pictures so I can share them with those unable to attend the game.
Now, off to work on some homework...!

Gearing Up for "Talk Like a Pirate Day"
FYI: September 19 is the International ' Talk Like A Pirate Day'.
In addition to that, the Priestie Boyz are gearing up (like I said in my previous post) for Crossroads Music Festival, and I'll be tagging along. We just finished ordering T-Shirts for the event (they'll be awesome, and they'll be sold online as well!), and the band is going to start gearing up for recording after the show's over.
The soccer season starts Sunday, and I'm quite excited about that; also, we have now acquired new fish in our 2nd floor fishtank. They add quite a bit of liveliness to an otherwise dull area, and provide entertainment when I feel like taking a short break from my studies. Here's a picture of them:
I have posted pictures from the Serra Night at the Ballpark (with Priests and their parents as well as many seminarians) and a few pictures of the new fish/fishtank on my Seminary Website.
Crazy Reflection...
As I begin this new school year, I have reflected a little on some of the most important things I do in my day-to-day life (i.e. Holy Mass, social interaction with family and friends, prayer, schoolwork, soccer, web stuff), and I have been discerning what things need to be 'cut out' in my life. I have begun a 'semi-quasi-fast-ish' kind of thing for the Internet, and for the two weeks I've been doing it, I've noticed a change for the positive.
Instead of completely cutting myself out of 'the web,' I have disentangled myself from certain things I did every day (such as checking many different news sources, checking computer updates, etc.), and I only use it for important purposes. I encourage you to look into your own life and see if there are certain time-consuming activities that you could lessen.

Priestie Boyz Live in Concert, Soccer Season Approaches
Hello everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I've last written; the school year has taken me by surprise, and I have little time to write or work on posting any pictures. However, I do have a few minutes to spare to post the following information:
-
The
Priestie Boyz will be performing live at the
Crossroads Music Festival on Saturday, September 24. Also, they are
currently working on their first album, which should be out around
the beginning of 2006!
- The Kenrick-Glennon Seminary soccer season will be 'kicking off' next Sunday. Even though most of you cannot attend the game, please say a prayer that all are safe and play well. We will be playing against Concordia Seminary (a Lutheran seminary) in a month or so, so that will be quite exciting!
I'm sorry I can't post any more information, but I don't have much time. Expect blogging to be light for a short time as I get the school year underway.

Donations for Hurricane Relief
The people of New Orleans and the surrounding areas in Louisiana and Mississippi are in great need of help, not only in material goods, supplies and shelter, but especially money. Catholic Charities has set up a simple web page where you can donate money to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They are currently accepting all the major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Please pray for all the victims of this natural disaster. Pray that they may seek God and not despair because of the tragic events that have taken place. Please especially pray for two of my friends, who's lives have been directly impacted by this hurricane. If you have anyone you'd like me or others who read this blog to pray for, please post them in the comments of this posting.
