INTEGRATION WITH CHURCH TEACHING AND THE CURRICULUM
In this passage, the Catechism of the Catholic Church (472) references Jesus inquiring the amount of loaves the apostles have on hand (6:38) to explain how Jesus could, when he became man, “increase in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man,” (Lk 2:52) and would even have to inquire for himself about what one in the human condition can learn only from experience.
Also, this passage can be a source for study in a number of the classes offered at the seminary excluding this present class. For example, this passage can be looked upon as a Christological passage by the descriptions of the human emotions by Jesus in the writings of Mark. Also, one could elaborate on the divine power and authority Jesus has shown in the multiplication of loaves and fishes. Plus, this passage can be looked upon in Old Testament as a reference to fulfillments of the promises of God. Also, the passage shows a New Testament example of Old Testament miracles.
